Ethena Labs is expanding its engineering group and hiring a Staff/Senior Trading Technology Engineer to support its suite of digital dollar products, including USDe, sUSDe, iUSDe, and USDtb. The role sits within a small Trading Technology team responsible for the full lifecycle of Ethena’s trading systems, which underpin the execution layer of its flagship products.

The engineer will work on greenfield components of the platform, build market data pipelines, and support execution logic used across multiple crypto trading venues. The work involves collaborating with quant and trading teams, ensuring high system reliability, and designing fault-tolerant, low-latency infrastructure. This position reports to the Team Lead and requires strong fundamentals in trading systems and modern software engineering practices.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of a new trading platform optimized for large-size execution.
• Build and maintain market data systems and integrate with various trading venues via REST/WS, FIX, and other protocols.
• Deliver new features and product capabilities in collaboration with quant and trading teams.
• Apply software development best practices, including automated testing and CI/CD.
• Architect systems for high availability, performance, and resilience.

🔹 Requirements

• Experience developing trading system components such as market data handlers, algorithmic engines, backtesting frameworks, and execution platforms.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and SOLID principles.
• Solid understanding of market structure, trading workflows, and multi-venue infrastructure.
• Practical experience with crypto exchanges and derivative products (perpetuals, futures).
• Knowledge of order routing, reconciliation, and execution quality optimization.
• Background in building high-performance, low-latency systems.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and make strategic engineering decisions.
• Strong familiarity with testing methodologies across unit, integration, regression, and performance layers.

🔹 Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $150,000 – $230,000 per year.
