Job description

Allium is a blockchain data infrastructure company focused on making on-chain data accurate, accessible, and usable at scale. The Blockchain Data Wizard role sits within the engineering team and is responsible for transforming raw, fragmented blockchain data into standardized, production-ready data models.

This position combines protocol research, data engineering, and analytical problem-solving to support both analysts and engineers who rely on blockchain data for decision-making and application development. The role involves working directly with multiple blockchains and DeFi protocols, designing schemas, building metrics, and ensuring data reliability. The output of this work serves as a trusted data foundation for institutional and crypto-native customers.

🔹 Responsibilities

  • Convert raw on-chain data into unified, intuitive data abstractions that work across protocols and use cases

  • Analyze and reverse engineer DeFi protocols by examining smart contracts, transactions, and events

  • Design and maintain SQL and dbt models that transform blockchain data into clean, production-ready datasets

  • Index new blockchains by studying native data structures and creating accurate internal schemas

  • Build industry-relevant metrics such as volume, fees, TVL, and user activity

  • Identify and filter non-organic activity, including wash trading, bots, and Sybil behavior

  • Ensure data completeness, accuracy, and long-term maintainability across supported blockchains

🔹 Requirements

  • Strong curiosity and attention to detail when working with complex and unfamiliar datasets

  • Ability to design data models with end users, query patterns, and performance in mind

  • Comfort working with limited documentation and ambiguous protocol behavior

  • Advanced SQL skills with experience using dbt for large-scale data transformations

  • Experience building incremental models, macros, and maintainable data pipelines

  • Ability to translate blockchain protocol behavior into structured, analyzable datasets
