Job description

Parity is hiring a contract Core Developer to work on runtime and protocol engineering initiatives within the Acceleration department. The team focuses on blockchain infrastructure roles tied to ecosystem growth across the Polkadot network, including tooling, integrations, and core protocol functionality. 

This remote role involves collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams to build decentralized systems, protocol abstractions, and developer tooling used by Polkadot and application teams building on the stack. Candidates will contribute to Rust-based protocol development, system design, and open-source collaboration while operating in a globally distributed environment. 

The position is structured as a contractor engagement through Parity’s UK entity and is suited for engineers comfortable with ownership, peer review, and complex distributed systems.

For teams scaling a web3 team, this role focuses heavily on protocol ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Design and implement protocol functionality for the Polkadot protocol and application teams building on it

• Collaborate with product development teams and contribute directly to production outcomes

• Build tooling and abstractions that improve developer experience and application development

• Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams on core runtime functionality
