Senior Smart Contract Engineer — Solidity & DeFi Protocols

Ondo Finance develops institutional-grade blockchain investment products focused on tokenized real-world assets and decentralized finance infrastructure. The company operates across asset management and blockchain protocol development, building tokenized treasury products, DeFi interoperability systems, and multi-chain financial infrastructure. 

This remote senior engineering role focuses on designing secure and scalable smart contracts supporting RWA tokenization, DeFi protocols, and cross-chain interoperability solutions. Engineers will collaborate with product, legal, and compliance stakeholders while contributing to blockchain infrastructure roles tied to regulated financial systems and decentralized applications. 

The position is suited for experienced Solidity engineers with expertise building production DeFi systems, multi-chain smart contracts, and scalable blockchain protocols used in institutional-grade environments.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Drive development of new blockchain deployments supporting Ondo Finance products
• Design and implement DeFi interoperability and token bridging solutions
• Build and maintain smart contract infrastructure supporting tokenized real-world assets
• Contribute to the development of DeFi protocols across multiple blockchain ecosystems
• Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert across blockchain engineering initiatives
• Guide engineering teams in delivering scalable and high-impact blockchain systems
• Make technical decisions aligned with long-term product and protocol objectives
• Collaborate with product, legal, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment of blockchain systems
• Solve technical challenges related to asset tokenization, interoperability, and protocol security

Scaling a web3 team focused on institutional finance infrastructure requires engineers with experience across smart contracts, protocol design, and DeFi architecture.

🔹 Requirements

• Must be located within PT, MT, CT, or ET time zones
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Minimum 3+ years of blockchain engineering experience
• Experience working on DeFi protocols deployed across multiple blockchain networks
• Strong Solidity expertise and familiarity with non-EVM smart contract languages
• Proven experience building and scaling DeFi protocols
• Strong prioritization and technical decision-making abilities
• Strong understanding of product requirements and scope definition
