The Senior Security Engineer, Blockchain Detection role focuses on blockchain security, intrusion detection, audit event analysis, and incident response for the World ID ecosystem running on Ethereum and the Optimism OP Stack.
The position works closely with teams building applications, network protocols, privacy systems, and blockchain infrastructure. This opportunity aligns with web3 security roles and is designed for engineers experienced in Ethereum security monitoring, smart contract analysis, audits, and large-scale detection systems.

🔹 Responsibilities
Work with the security team to leverage the Ethereum blockchain for recording audit events and detecting attacks targeting the World ID system.
Support security operations involving the Optimism OP Stack L2 chain, Merkle trees, zero knowledge proofs, smart contracts, and blockchain infrastructure.
Help build automated detection and response systems protecting millions of identity and financial transactions daily.
Collaborate closely with teams working on applications, hardware devices, encryption systems, attestation, network protocols, infrastructure, and mobile technologies.
Contribute to maintaining strong privacy protections while improving transparency and trust through blockchain-based audit systems.

🔹 Requirements
Proven track record identifying blockchain-based vulnerabilities such as smart contract issues or strong participation in major security Capture The Flag competitions including DEF CON, PlaidCTF, or Google CTF.
5–8 years of experience developing and deploying security analysis systems including intrusion detection, security monitoring, or log analysis.
2–5 years of experience working with the Ethereum blockchain at the protocol and transaction level.
Experience with programming and version control systems including GitHub.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident handling operations.
Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with peer teams on security and privacy improvements.
Experience working within fast-paced collaborative environments.
Nice-to-have skills include Solidity development, SQL-based analytics dashboards, CI/CD deployments in containerized environments, and infrastructure, cloud, hardware, or mobile security expertise.
🔹 Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $221,000 – $325,000
