    Job description

    This role supports the development of a new open-source library within the OpenZeppelin product ecosystem. As a Senior Open Source Developer working in Rust, you will collaborate with the broader community to shape the library’s roadmap, design core features, implement smart contract components, and produce high-quality documentation and tests.

    The work is fully remote and involves contributing to tools used across multiple blockchain ecosystems, including both EVM and non-EVM platforms. The position also includes opportunities to present at community events and engage with developers using OpenZeppelin’s libraries, which are widely adopted across the industry.

    🔹 Responsibilities

    • Define and refine the roadmap for a new open-source library in collaboration with the community.
    • Design, implement, test, and document smart contract features and supporting components.
    • Engage with developers and users to gather feedback and improve the library.
    • Participate in community events to present and share OpenZeppelin’s work.
    • Contribute to the development of tools used by multiple blockchain ecosystems.

    🔹 Requirements

    • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
    • 3+ years of professional Rust development experience.
    • 1+ years working with public blockchains and writing production smart contracts.
    • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Copilot.
    • Strong interest in expanding blockchain knowledge.
    • Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
    • Prior remote work experience with strong self-management skills.
    • Advanced English communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
    • Nice to have: Experience contributing to open-source projects.
    • Nice to have: Professional experience with Golang.
    • Nice to have: Prior speaking experience at blockchain or open-source events.
    • Nice to have: Knowledge of non-EVM blockchain systems.
    • Must be located between UTC-8 and UTC+3.
