Senior Communications Lead — Media Relations

Chainlink Labs develops blockchain infrastructure that provides oracle, interoperability, compliance, and data services supporting tokenized assets, stablecoins, payments, lending, and institutional blockchain adoption. This United States remote position sits within the Marketing team and focuses on leading media relations strategy for major company, product, partnership, and market-facing announcements.

The Senior Communications Lead will own the planning and execution of external communications across DeFi, capital markets, banking, and blockchain infrastructure initiatives. Working closely with executives, product marketing, business development, legal, and ecosystem teams, this role is responsible for securing earned media coverage, shaping narratives, and coordinating announcement execution. 

Candidates with experience supporting high-growth technology organizations, financial services communications, and institutional adoption stories will be particularly relevant.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Lead media strategy and execution for major announcements related to DeFi, banking, capital markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, interoperability, data, and compliance

• Translate technical and institutional developments into clear narratives for business, financial, crypto, and trade media audiences

• Secure earned media coverage across business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and industry publications

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and media contacts across financial services, technology, crypto, and capital markets

• Identify appropriate media targets for announcements including business outlets, financial television, crypto publications, trade media, podcasts, newsletters, and analysts

• Manage announcement execution including strategy development, press materials, embargo coordination, pitching, spokesperson preparation, interview scheduling, coverage monitoring, and reporting

• Prepare executives and spokespeople for interviews, podcasts, conferences, media briefings, and broadcast appearances

• Write and refine press releases, media pitches, Q&A documents, messaging frameworks, talking points, statements, and briefing materials

• Monitor market, policy, media, and Web3 developments to identify communications opportunities

• Partner with product, ecosystem, business development, legal, policy, marketing, social, and content teams to maintain communication accuracy and alignment

🔹 Requirements

• 7+ years of communications, public relations, or media relations experience

• Experience across crypto, fintech, financial services, capital markets, enterprise technology, or high-growth technology organizations

• Demonstrated success securing coverage for major company, product, partnership, funding, institutional, or ecosystem announcements

• Established relationships with business, financial, broadcast, crypto, fintech, and trade media professionals

• Ability to simplify complex technical subjects into compelling narratives for mainstream and professional financial audiences

• Strong understanding of DeFi, tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, crypto markets, and institutional adoption

• Excellent writing and editing capabilities across press releases, messaging documents, executive communications, briefing materials, and media pitches

• Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines

• Experience working directly with senior executives on media engagements

• Experience working in-house, within an agency environment, or both

• Ability to operate effectively within a remote-first work environment

Preferred Requirements

• Based in New York City or able to regularly attend executive media engagements, reporter meetings, broadcast interviews, and financial industry events

• Existing relationships with producers, reporters, and bookers at leading financial broadcast organizations

• Experience supporting communications initiatives related to banking, capital markets, tokenization, stablecoins, payments, or financial infrastructure

• Experience managing media relations across both crypto-native and mainstream business audiences

• Experience managing agency relationships and overseeing execution against defined objectives

• Experience supporting executives during conferences, podcast appearances, broadcast interviews, and live media engagements

• Strong interest in the adoption of blockchain technology within capital markets

🔹 Compensation & Benefits

• Annual cash compensation: USD $101,000 – $238,000

• Compensation determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location
