This role focuses on reviewing and analyzing smart contracts for leading decentralized applications before they launch. As a Blockchain Security Researcher, you will examine code line by line, identify vulnerabilities, and propose improvements that enhance clarity, safety, and maintainability.

The position involves working with other auditors, participating in open-ended research on emerging blockchain technologies, and contributing to internal tools and best practices. You’ll operate independently within a distributed team and have dedicated time for research and contributions to OpenZeppelin’s open-source ecosystem. The role is fully remote and suited for someone with hands-on experience in software development, cybersecurity, mathematics, or related fields.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Review smart contracts for major decentralized applications and present findings to clients.
• Collaborate with one or two auditors to analyze code line by line and attempt to exploit weaknesses.
• Develop proposals and best practices to improve code clarity and usability.
• Conduct research on emerging blockchain technologies.
• Use dedicated paid time to contribute to OpenZeppelin’s projects and internal knowledge.

🔹 Requirements

• Practical experience in software development, cybersecurity, mathematics, or related areas.
• Experience with Ethereum or other EVM-based blockchains.
• Knowledge of Solidity.
• Strong curiosity and ability to learn complex topics.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Advanced English proficiency with strong communication skills.
• Interest in blockchain and decentralization.
• Ability to collaborate within a distributed team.
• Nice to have: Experience with backend development in JavaScript, Python, Golang, or Rust.
• Nice to have: Prior experience conducting code reviews.
• Nice to have: Background in financial engineering or market microstructure.
