Senior Software Engineer — Backend (TypeScript, Realtime Systems)
Remote · New York City
Noise Labs is building a data-driven media platform that combines signals from across the internet with market-based insights to create real-time, decision-oriented products. The team operates from New York with a small, high-output engineering group focused on shipping fast and maintaining strong product quality.
This backend role owns core systems, including feeds, ranking, notifications, and real-time infrastructure where correctness and latency directly impact user experience and financial outcomes. Engineers are expected to work across services, APIs, and data flows while maintaining development infrastructure such as CI, testing, and observability. The position requires hands-on ownership across the stack, aligning with blockchain infrastructure roles and high-performance backend systems where reliability and speed are critical in production environments.
🔹 Responsibilities
• Build backend systems for consumer-facing features including feeds, ranking, notifications, realtime systems, and social layers
• Ensure the codebase supports high-confidence shipping for both developers and automated agents
• Own services, APIs, and data flows across core product systems
• Develop infrastructure where correctness and latency are critical, including settlement, pricing, and realtime pipelines
• Maintain and improve development tooling including CI, testing frameworks, and observability systems
• Operate across the stack without platform handoffs, including debugging pipelines, improving containers, and adding tracing
Supporting teams focused on scaling a web3 team and high-performance backend hiring.
🔹 Requirements
• Daily usage of AI tooling to improve development speed
• Strong understanding of latency vs correctness tradeoffs in financial systems
• Proficiency in TypeScript, relational databases, realtime transports, and event-driven architectures
• Experience working within strict monorepo environments with typed service boundaries
• Ability to independently manage infrastructure issues including pipelines, containers, and tracing systems
• Strong communication skills including async collaboration, incident reporting, and escalation awareness
Bonus:
• Familiarity with Effect-TS
• Side projects, open-source contributions, or startup experience
Hiring for roles like this reflects increasing demand for engineers who can operate across product, infrastructure, and realtime systems.
