Head of Engineering

This role serves as Deputy CTO and leads engineering efforts for P2P.org’s staking and yield infrastructure. The position oversees development of secure, scalable software services and blockchain-based financial products. The scope includes management of engineering teams, technology strategy, API services, and multi-year platform evolution.

The leader in this role will work with product, security, and operations teams to support institutional-grade staking and yield services, as well as upcoming launches across multiple blockchain ecosystems. The role also includes fostering relationships with key protocol foundations and representing technical leadership in public forums, ensuring alignment with emerging blockchain advancements.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Establish and execute long-term technical strategy to ensure scalability and competitive positioning
• Direct architecture and implementation of staking and blockchain-related software products
• Ensure reliability and security of high-throughput API services and state-dependent blockchain processes
• Lead and develop engineering staff including leads, developers, and managers
• Manage hiring pipeline, performance development, and skills growth initiatives
• Improve operational reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Guide engineering practice improvements, tooling, and technical standards
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery with product, operations, and security stakeholders
• Oversee engineering budget and optimize resource allocation
• Represent engineering in blockchain industry communities and protocol ecosystems
• Maintain collaborative relationships with blockchain foundations and ecosystem partners
• Present technical insights at conferences and professional events
• Support integration efforts with partners and protocol-aligned initiatives

🔹 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years in senior technical leadership spanning architecture and multi-year strategy
• 5+ years managing engineering teams and building them from early stage
• 3+ years building Web3 or crypto-based systems
• Demonstrated experience in designing and scaling API services with strong security and performance fundamentals
• Expertise in high-availability, fault-tolerant, scalable service architectures
• Proven leadership of senior contributors and technical managers
• Experience in collaborating with product teams and delivering high-assurance SLAs
• Familiarity with budget planning and engineering resource management
• Strong knowledge of DevOps including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with blockchain protocols and staking/yield frameworks
• Familiarity with ecosystems such as Ethereum, Polkadot, TON, Bitcoin, Cosmos
• Experience interacting with protocol teams and researchers
• Understanding of blockchain security and mitigation approaches
• Exposure to smart contract development and yield/stablecoin mechanisms
