Peratera is a UK-based fintech company founded in 2022 and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI). Peratera is building a modern, all-in-one payment platform that enables international businesses to open multi-currency accounts, send and receive global payments, and manage cross-border transactions seamlessly from a single infrastructure layer.
Role Summary
Peratera is looking for an experienced Compliance Analyst to join its Compliance team, with a primary focus on business customer onboarding (KYB), ongoing due diligence, and transaction monitoring. In this role, you will assess corporate customers across high-growth and higher-risk sectors (including fintech, payments, EMI, FX, and crypto), analyze complex ownership structures, evaluate source of funds/wealth, and investigate transaction monitoring alerts to protect the platform against financial crime.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Onboarding & KYB: Conduct end-to-end KYB onboarding and due diligence for international corporate clients, reviewing complex ownership chains, ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs), directors, and associated parties.
Risk Assessment & EDD: Complete customer risk profiling and determine when Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is warranted; analyze source of funds, source of wealth, and expected payment volumes.
Screening & Escalations: Perform PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening, evaluating potential matches and escalating material risks to senior compliance leadership.
Transaction Monitoring: Review transaction monitoring alerts, conduct investigations into unusual payment flows, and document actionable escalations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Commercial, Operations, and Product teams to resolve onboarding queries efficiently while upholding regulatory standards.
Periodic Reviews: Execute periodic and trigger-based customer reviews to ensure ongoing compliance integrity and record accuracy.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
Experience: Ideally 3–4 years of direct experience in KYC/KYB, corporate onboarding, or financial crime compliance.
Industry Background: Solid experience within an FCA-regulated EMI, payment institution (PI), fintech, FX, or digital banking environment.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of AML/CFT principles, sanctions frameworks, PEP identification, and corporate governance structures.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate complex company structures, assess higher-risk business models, and document defensible compliance decisions.
Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal English communication.
Nice-to-Haves
Hands-on experience with screening and compliance tooling (e.g., ComplyAdvantage, Dow Jones, World-Check).
Working knowledge of UK/EU AML regulations and regulatory expectations for Electronic Money Institutions.
Industry certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent financial crime credentials.
Exposure to crypto, digital asset, or cross-border payment compliance operations.
