Job description

Fun is building backend infrastructure for digital asset payments, enabling seamless transactions across crypto, fiat, and exchange balances within a unified system. The platform focuses on reducing friction in global value transfer by supporting on-chain execution, asset conversion, and payment routing across providers.

This role sits within the Payments Infrastructure team and focuses on backend services powering transaction flow, settlement, and routing. You’ll work on high-performance distributed systems handling low-latency APIs, identity verification, and transaction finality across chains. 

🔹 Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services for the Web3 payments platform
• Develop new features to improve overall product experience
• Collaborate with product and protocol teams to architect technical solutions aligned with business requirements
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
• Contribute to debugging and incident response to maintain system reliability

🔹 Requirements

Core Requirements
• Strong experience building production backend systems using modern programming languages
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and database design principles
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to debug complex systems
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate across teams

Nice to Have
• Production-level TypeScript experience
• Experience working at a crypto startup or Web3 infrastructure company
• Exposure to blockchain integrations, smart contracts, or DeFi protocols
• Experience with high-scale payment processing or financial compliance systems
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing
• Experience with event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
