Software Engineering Lead — Python/Crypto Compliance

This Associate Director–level role sits within R&D engineering, owning the technical direction and delivery of the crypto compliance platform. The position leads a small engineering team while ensuring architecture, APIs, and cloud systems align with regulatory and business requirements. The role focuses on system quality, delivery outcomes, and long-term maintainability, balancing immediate product needs with scalable infrastructure decisions.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Own and guide the technical architecture of the crypto compliance product across security, scalability, and reliability requirements
• Act as the primary decision-maker for technical trade-offs within the product scope
• Define system design, service boundaries, APIs, data models, and integration patterns
• Lead and manage a team of 3–5 engineers, ensuring delivery quality and team performance
• Allocate resources across delivery, technical improvements, and team development
• Coach and mentor engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment
• Take accountability for end-to-end engineering delivery and system outcomes
• Partner with product teams to define technical feasibility, delivery plans, and sequencing
• Drive resolution of complex technical challenges across teams
• Promote best practices in testing, documentation, and operational readiness
• Ensure secure-by-design engineering practices in a regulated environment
• Represent technical interests in cross-team architecture and engineering discussions

• Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams with ownership of delivery outcomes
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience defining architecture and guiding technical direction

• Strong understanding of Python and backend engineering practices
• Experience with microservices or service-oriented architectures
• Knowledge of system design, object-oriented programming, and API-driven systems
• Experience delivering complex, production-grade software systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with API integrations and distributed systems
• Strong focus on secure software development practices

• Hands-on Python experience in production systems
