Job description

Polymarket operates a large-scale prediction market protocol where users trade on real-world outcomes using on-chain infrastructure. The Smart Contract Engineer will join the core protocol team and own the design, development, and deployment of Solidity smart contracts that secure and operate high-volume peer-to-peer markets.

This role focuses on building and maintaining protocol-level functionality, improving developer tooling, and addressing security risks in live production systems. The engineer collaborates closely with other engineers and cross-functional partners, contributes to architectural decisions, and responds to real-world vulnerabilities as the protocol evolves across Ethereum and related EVM ecosystems.

🔹 Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deploy secure Solidity smart contracts used in production markets

  • Contribute to protocol infrastructure, tooling, and new feature development

  • Investigate security issues, model attack scenarios, and implement mitigation strategies

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure contract quality, security, and maintainability

  • Track EVM developments and apply relevant best practices to the protocol

  • Mentor other engineers and collaborate with product, design, and operations teams

🔹 Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience writing and deploying Solidity smart contracts in production

  • Strong understanding of the EVM, DeFi protocols, and decentralized application architecture

  • Security-focused mindset with experience identifying and preventing vulnerabilities

  • Proven ability to ship reliable code in fast-moving environments

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Interest in DeFi, Ethereum, and advanced on-chain systems

  • Bonus: experience with prediction markets

  • Bonus: experience with formal verification or advanced Solidity security techniques

  • Bonus: open-source DeFi contributions

  • Bonus: familiarity with multiple EVM chains and bridging solutions
