Smart Contract Engineer
Remote · Worldwide
Kamino is building the liquidity and credit engine for on-chain finance and tokenized real-world assets. As the largest credit protocol on Solana and a premier decentralized credit platform globally, Kamino has processed over $650 billion in cumulative transaction volume and originated more than $20 billion in loans. Led by former Yieldstreet co-founder Michael Weisz, Kamino is expanding institutional credit rails and asset distribution across traditional finance and decentralized markets.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on smart contract engineering role focused on designing, building, maintaining, and hardening production-grade on-chain programs and developer tooling. You will own the technical correctness, gas efficiency, and security of core protocol contracts, analyze audit findings, and integrate smart contract logic with off-chain SDKs and client services.
Key Responsibilities
Protocol Feature Development: Design and build new protocol mechanisms and financial primitives within Solana smart contracts.
Smart Contract Maintenance: Maintain, refactor, and harden existing on-chain programs to optimize execution and state management.
Security & Code Review: Conduct thorough peer reviews with strict emphasis on security, correctness, and edge-case testing; analyze audit reports and implement remediation fixes.
Off-Chain Integrations: Coordinate contract updates with backend infrastructure, client SDKs, indexing services, and developer tooling.
AI-Native Engineering: Leverage modern AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test coverage, audit analysis, and code quality verification.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
Systems Programming: Strong production experience in Rust or low-level systems engineering (memory management, concurrency, types).
Smart Contract Foundations: Proven track record in smart contract development (either on Solana or other major chains like EVM) with a deep focus on security-sensitive code.
Codebase Navigation: Ability to read, reason about, and refactor complex, mission-critical distributed systems.
Quality & Edge-Case Rigor: Meticulous approach to automated testing, fuzzing, and debugging invariants in production software.
Autonomy: Strong problem-solving independence in a fast-paced, asynchronous remote environment.
Nice-to-Haves
Direct production experience writing Solana programs using the Anchor framework.
Prior domain experience in DeFi primitives (lending markets, automated vaults, DEX liquidity, or structured credit).
Background responding to formal security audits, invariant testing, or participating in smart contract bug bounties.
