About the Role

As Senior Compliance Manager (Dubai), you’ll be a key force ensuring OKX’s alignment with UAE’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) framework and other global compliance standards. This role combines regulatory strategy, AML/CFT expertise, and crypto-specific risk management — giving you the opportunity to shape how digital-asset businesses operate responsibly in a fast-moving industry.

You’ll collaborate with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to develop frameworks that balance innovation with compliance — helping OKX maintain its reputation as a secure and transparent crypto platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain AML/CFT and compliance policies, manuals, and monitoring systems tailored for crypto exchanges.
Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to ensure full compliance with UAE regulations, including VARA guidance and global best practices.
Conduct transaction monitoring, case investigations, and prepare suspicious activity reports (SARs) for relevant authorities.
Respond to regulatory, legal, and law-enforcement requests with timely and accurate documentation.
Collaborate across teams — Legal, Risk, Product, Finance, and Engineering — to embed compliance into all product and operational flows.
Lead internal reviews, remediation, and independent audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance program.
Provide advisory input on anti-money-laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), sanctions, and data-protection matters.
Deputize for the MLRO when required, ensuring urgent matters (e.g., SAR assessments) are handled quickly and properly.
Prepare board-level compliance reports and dashboards for internal governance.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field; postgraduate degree or certifications like CAMS / CCEP preferred.
6+ years of experience in compliance, AML, or regulatory risk, ideally within crypto, fintech, or financial services sectors.
Proven record of working with regulators, auditors, or financial intelligence units (FIUs) on compliance audits or investigations.
Strong understanding of AML/CTF frameworks, sanctions regimes, and data-protection laws.
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory guidance to real-world crypto operations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills — able to bridge the gap between technical and regulatory teams.
Passion for the blockchain industry and a proactive mindset toward risk identification, governance, and continuous improvement.
