Senior Compliance Manager — AML/CFT Compliance

OKX is hiring a Senior Compliance Manager to support and strengthen its compliance framework within the UAE regulatory environment. Working closely with the MLRO, this role focuses on AML, CFT, regulatory compliance, investigations, governance, reporting, and risk management activities. The position requires extensive collaboration with Legal, Risk, Engineering, Product, Finance, and external regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliance with UAE regulations and industry standards.
Candidates with experience in financial services, fintech, cryptocurrency compliance, AML investigations, regulatory engagement, and enterprise risk management will find strong alignment with this opportunity. Supporting organizational integrity through effective compliance governance and risk management.
🔹 Responsibilities
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of compliance manuals, policies, procedures, and systems related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.
• Support the MLRO in ensuring compliance with UAE regulatory obligations, VARA guidance, and industry best practices.
• Assist with monitoring, investigating, and resolving AML/CFT-related cases.
• Support responses to legal and regulatory inquiries and requests.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies and external stakeholders where required.
• Provide guidance on AML/CFT-related matters across the organization.
• Assist in preparing the organization for independent AML/CFT and compliance testing.
• Collaborate with Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, and Risk teams to implement an effective compliance management framework.
• Act as deputy to the MLRO when required, including assessment and escalation of suspicious activity reports.
• Oversee compliance reviews and investigations.
• Support preparation of compliance reports for management, board members, and internal stakeholders.
Supporting teams focused on scaling a web3 team while maintaining regulatory excellence.
🔹 Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CAMS, CCEP, or similar preferred.
• Proven experience in compliance management, including experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO.
• Experience within cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services sectors.
• Demonstrated experience working with regulators and auditors on AML audits and investigations.
• Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, sanctions compliance, and data protection regulations.
• Experience preparing and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to Financial Intelligence Units.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong project management and remediation experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
• Understanding of the cryptocurrency industry and associated compliance risks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
