As a Senior Blockchain Data Researcher, you will contribute to and help lead Syndica’s research pipeline across domains such as DeFi, DePIN, NFTs, L1/L2 performance, and developer activity. The role involves producing original, data-driven research by analyzing on-chain datasets, building visualizations, and delivering structured insights for external publication and internal decision-making.

🔹 Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to blockchain research initiatives across multiple Web3 sectors and domains.
Analyze on-chain data related to L1/L2 networks, DeFi protocols, NFTs, DePIN, DAO activity, and developer behavior.
Use platforms such as Flipside and Dune to extract and analyze blockchain datasets.
Build data visualizations to clearly communicate trends, relationships, and insights.
Review whitepapers and technical documentation to contextualize on-chain activity.
Collaborate with the Research team to prepare reports for external publication.
Manage research timelines, incorporate feedback from leadership, and meet delivery deadlines.
Stay current with industry best practices, tooling, and methodologies for on-chain research.

🔹 Requirements

2+ years of experience in blockchain data analysis or on-chain research.
Strong ability to derive original insights using first-principles thinking.
Advanced SQL skills, including indexes, subqueries, CTEs, and basic query profiling.
Proficiency in Python or R, along with data analysis libraries such as Pandas, matplotlib, dplyr, or ggplot.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
Familiarity engaging with developer and research communities across social and technical platforms.
Strong written and analytical communication skills.
