Job description

Parity builds core blockchain infrastructure including Polkadot, Polkadot SDK, and Kusama. This contract-based, remote role sits within the Security Engineering team and focuses on strengthening security across decentralized systems and Rust-based software components.

The Security Engineer will conduct deep manual and automated audits, write secure Rust code where required, and contribute to ML-powered security tooling. The position operates within web3 security roles that require vulnerability analysis, threat modeling, and collaboration with protocol engineering teams.

This hire supports blockchain infrastructure roles by embedding secure development practices, managing bug bounty workflows, and reinforcing resilience across open-source distributed systems.

2️⃣ Responsibilities & Requirements

This position is critical for teams looking to hire rust engineers for protocol teams with strong security specialization.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Write and optimize Rust code for security-critical components and internal tooling

• Perform manual and automated code audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities

• Design and implement machine learning models for automated security analysis, anomaly detection, and threat mitigation

• Manage bug bounty submissions, triage vulnerability reports, and collaborate with ethical hackers

• Integrate secure development best practices into the software development lifecycle

• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments across blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, and core software

• Research and apply advancements in secure coding, ML-driven security, and blockchain security

This role contributes directly to web3 security roles across protocol and decentralized application layers.

🔹 Requirements

• Experience with secure coding practices and memory safety principles

• Background in code auditing, vulnerability analysis, or exploit development

• Experience triaging and resolving bug bounty submissions

• Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to security (e.g., anomaly detection, fuzzing, automated threat detection)

• Familiarity with cryptographic principles, blockchain security, or decentralized systems

• Strong analytical problem-solving ability and offensive security mindset
