Parity builds and maintains core open-source blockchain infrastructure, including Polkadot, the Polkadot SDK, and Kusama. The Security Engineer will join the Security Engineering team and focus on strengthening the security posture of Parity’s blockchain ecosystem.

This role involves auditing and, where required, writing secure Rust code, performing in-depth manual and automated code reviews, and applying machine learning techniques to automate security analysis. The engineer works closely with development teams to embed secure development practices, manages vulnerability disclosures and bug bounty reports, and contributes to threat modeling and risk assessment across core protocol components.

This is a remote, contract role within Parity’s Acceleration department.

🔹 Responsibilities

Write and optimize Rust code for security-critical components and internal tools
Perform manual and automated code audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Design and implement ML-based systems for automated security analysis and anomaly detection
Triage bug bounty submissions and collaborate with external security researchers
Integrate secure development practices into engineering workflows and the SDLC
Conduct threat modeling and security risk assessments across blockchain infrastructure
Research and apply advancements in secure coding, ML-driven security, and blockchain security

🔹 Requirements

Experience with secure coding practices and memory safety concepts
Background in code auditing, vulnerability analysis, or exploit development
Experience handling bug bounty reports and vulnerability disclosure processes
Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to security use cases
Familiarity with cryptography, blockchain security, or decentralized systems
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and an offensive security mindset
