Job description

Tether operates global digital finance infrastructure enabling reserve-backed tokens across blockchain networks, powering payments, exchanges, and financial integrations at scale. This internship is positioned within research and engineering functions focused on large-scale AI systems. The role contributes to developing and optimizing multimodal foundation models, including LLMs and vision systems, while working on distributed training environments across multi-node GPU systems. The intern will engage directly with applied research and production-oriented AI workflows, supporting both experimentation and deployment use cases.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Research and develop state-of-the-art large language models, video models, and multimodal AI systems
• Implement applications of large models including pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, post-training, and inference
• Optimize distributed training frameworks for large-scale model training across multi-node GPU environments
• Contribute to the development of open-source LLM, vision, and multimodal foundation models and related products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across research and engineering

🔹 Requirements

• MSc or PhD candidate in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Research experience in at least one domain: LLMs, computer vision, or multimodal systems
• Proficiency with PyTorch and deep learning frameworks

• Effective communication skills in English
