About the Role
Symbiotic is searching for a strategic and hands-on Head of Business Development to lead global partnership initiatives and expand our presence across the decentralized infrastructure ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, partnerships, and growth — ideal for someone who understands both crypto-native ecosystems and traditional financial frameworks.
You’ll collaborate with the leadership team to identify high-value alliances, drive ecosystem adoption, and represent Symbiotic at industry events.

Symbiotic is a universal staking protocol helping blockchain projects decentralize their infrastructure efficiently. We enable protocols to design custom or template-based staking integrations using any asset — with features like slashing, redistribution, liquid restaking, and native staking.
Today, over 40 projects, including Spark, Hyperlane, and Avail, are leveraging our staking primitives, securing over $1B+ in TVL.

What You’ll Do
Lead and implement a comprehensive BD and partnership roadmap, in collaboration with the Ecosystem leadership.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate partnerships across Layer-1s, Layer-2s, DeFi protocols, wallets, and institutional players.
Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, and Ecosystem teams to ensure successful partner onboarding and joint initiatives.
Establish KPIs for partnership performance and adjust strategies based on measurable growth outcomes.
Represent Symbiotic at conferences, partner meetings, and industry panels to drive visibility and strengthen thought leadership.
Build and scale the BD function — acting both as an individual contributor and mentor for future hires.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic growth. At least 2 years in crypto/Web3 preferred.
Demonstrated ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals in high-growth environments.
Strong grasp of blockchain infrastructure, DeFi mechanics, and staking ecosystems.
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills — able to create win-win structures and align incentives.
Comfort in managing BD pipelines, forecasting, and reporting metrics.
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills across crypto-native and institutional audiences.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute autonomously.
Willingness to travel for conferences and partner engagements.
NYC presence is a plus.
