Blockchain Security Analyst (Senior) — Blockchain Security
Remote · Worldwide
Chainlink Labs develops blockchain infrastructure that supports decentralized finance, tokenized assets, payments, lending, stablecoins, and interoperability across the digital asset ecosystem. This remote U.S.-based role joins the Security team as an individual contributor focused on blockchain security investigations, incident response, threat analysis, and onchain intelligence.
The position works closely with security researchers, protocol teams, incident responders, and data engineers to investigate exploits, phishing campaigns, laundering activity, and cross-chain threats. Candidates will analyze EVM and non-EVM blockchain activity, trace fund movements, automate investigation workflows, and produce actionable intelligence.
This opportunity is well suited to professionals seeking web3 security roles involving DeFi, blockchain analytics, security investigations, and digital asset threat intelligence within a large-scale blockchain infrastructure environment.
🔹 Responsibilities
• Conduct blockchain investigations involving exploits, phishing attacks, laundering activity, bridge incidents, and other onchain security threats.
• Trace funds across multiple blockchains, bridges, mixers, and DeFi protocols to identify patterns, attribution opportunities, and potential risks.
• Analyze transaction traces, calldata, logs, topics, and RPC-level blockchain data to generate investigative findings.
• Develop lightweight tools and scripts to automate analysis tasks, enrich datasets, and improve investigation efficiency.
• Create concise reports and presentations that communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support incident response activities during active security investigations and operational events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance detection methodologies, investigative tooling, and operational processes.
• Monitor developments in exploit techniques, threat actor behavior, laundering methods, and broader web3 security trends.
🔹 Requirements
• Deep understanding of the EVM ecosystem and familiarity with SVM and other non-EVM blockchain networks.
• Ability to explain transaction structures, calldata, traces, logs, topics, and blockchain execution mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of DeFi protocols, bridges, multisig architectures, and wallet infrastructure.
• Experience extracting and analyzing blockchain data using explorers, transaction traces, event logs, and RPC responses.
• Ability to build lightweight tooling and scripts for investigations and blockchain analytics.
• Experience conducting blockchain investigations using Chainalysis Reactor, TRM Labs, Arkham, Nansen, or similar platforms.
• Experience tracing assets across bridges, mixers, and cross-chain systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
• Experience interacting directly with blockchain RPC endpoints.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted investigation workflows, automation, and development tooling.
• Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident response operations.
• Understanding of exploit techniques, laundering methodologies, phishing infrastructure, and threat actor behavior.
• Familiarity with sanctions screening and attribution methodologies.
• Ability to read and analyze smart contract code, preferably Solidity or Rust.
• Knowledge of MEV, validator infrastructure, and transaction propagation mechanics.
• Experience using Dune, Flipside, BigQuery, or self-hosted blockchain indexers.
• Prior experience working in web3 startup environments.
🔹 Compensation & Benefits
• Annual cash compensation: $129,000 – $304,000 USD.
• Compensation is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
• Zone-based compensation structure.
• Long-term incentive programs.
• Comprehensive benefits package.
• Full-time employment.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
AOB Career Note
Blockchain security analysts are increasingly expected to combine technical investigation skills with deep protocol knowledge across DeFi, cross-chain infrastructure, wallets, and smart contracts. Hiring teams frequently evaluate candidates on their ability to trace complex fund flows, investigate exploits, understand RPC-level blockchain data, and communicate findings clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
