Bitcoin Rust Engineer — DeFi Systems (Remote)
FULL_TIME • NA
About the Team
We’re a blockchain research and engineering group that believes the future of finance should stay open, verifiable, and built on real innovation — not promises.
Our work spans cryptography, decentralized systems, and next-generation DeFi infrastructure. Every product we ship is backed by academic research and a commitment to secure, peer-reviewed code.
Our Mission
Bitcoin gave the world financial independence — now it’s time to extend that power into decentralized finance.
We’re building new ways to use Bitcoin without wrapping it, locking it, or trusting intermediaries. By tapping into advances like Taproot, Bitcoin Script, and emerging frameworks such as BitVM, we’re proving that DeFi can exist on Bitcoin — not around it.
Your Role
As a Bitcoin Rust Engineer, you’ll help design and implement the systems that make this vision real. You’ll build high-performance components in Rust, work directly with Bitcoin Core, and shape the foundations of a trustless DeFi layer for Bitcoin.
This role goes beyond coding — it’s about setting engineering direction, mentoring others, and helping define what responsible innovation in blockchain looks like.
What You’ll Work On
Architect and implement secure Bitcoin-based applications using Rust
Dive deep into Bitcoin Core, improving interoperability and scalability
Build fault-tolerant distributed systems and improve P2P network reliability
Lead discussions on system design, code quality, and security best practices
Collaborate with researchers, cryptographers, and protocol engineers
Experiment with Taproot, Bitcoin Script, and novel frameworks like BitVM
Write clear documentation and contribute back to the open-source ecosystem
What We’re Looking For
7+ years in software engineering, including strong experience with Rust or C++
Hands-on contributions to Bitcoin Core or other Bitcoin open-source projects
Solid grasp of Taproot, Bitcoin Script, and advanced cryptographic concepts
Deep understanding of networking, distributed systems, and concurrency
Familiarity with zero-knowledge proofs or multi-party computation is a plus
Comfortable working in modern DevOps setups (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
Experience in Agile environments and collaborative Git workflows
What You’ll Get
100% remote-first setup — work from anywhere
Tech allowance for laptop and workspace essentials
Dedicated learning budget for personal growth and research
Flexible time off and a focus on well-being
A diverse, inclusive culture where skill and curiosity matter more than titles
Why This Role Matters
Most Bitcoin DeFi systems still rely on custodial wrappers and centralized bridges.
You’ll be part of the small group of engineers changing that — creating systems where Bitcoin stays Bitcoin, and users stay in control.
Join us in pushing Bitcoin beyond store-of-value status — toward real, decentralized utility.
