Hyperliquid is seeking a highly capable Backend Engineer to contribute to the foundation of our Layer 1 protocol. You’ll be working on deeply technical systems—ranging from consensus and execution (HyperCore and HyperEVM) to API/RPC infrastructure—and building performant primitives for next-generation decentralized finance.

Your Role:

Architect, develop, and refine multiple layers of the Hyperliquid protocol stack.
Contribute to consensus and execution systems, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.
Build and iterate on financial and trading primitives native to the Hyperliquid L1 ecosystem.
Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and developer experience across modules.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven expertise in systems-level engineering — writing modular, efficient, and maintainable code in complex environments.
Deep understanding of performance tuning and low-level optimization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; a first-principles approach to technical challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within high-performance teams.
Background in competitive programming (IOI, ICPC, or equivalent) or comparable algorithmic problem-solving capability.
Proficiency in Rust is essential.
Must be able to work on-site in Singapore.
