I’m currently in Latin America on an H4 visa (with work authorization) and transitioning from software development into blockchain after self-studying for a year. While I’m passionate about the field, I’m unsure about the real-world demand here.

Could anyone share insights on:

  1. Current demand for blockchain engineers in LATAM – is it niche or growing?

  2. Countries/sectors (fintech, gov projects?) leading adoption.

  3. As a self-taught dev, should I specialize (e.g., DeFi/smart contracts) or keep blockchain as a secondary skill?

Also, how viable are remote roles in this space within the region?
