Hi all, I'm Anket - crypto researcher from Lucknow tracking BTC derivatives & infra narratives (non-dev background).

Currently applying for Research Analyst roles. Question: For founders/recruiters, what is the safest format you recommend?

- View-only Google Doc

- Notion public page

- PDF

Also, any red flags I should avoid when sharing my research samples?

Would love feedback on how you structure your research portfolios too. Thanks!

Hey Anket, welcome to ArtOfBlockchain! Great question for the group.

I voted for Notion. It is the best way to show a research portfolio right now. Just make sure to turn off the "duplicate" feature so nobody copies your hard work. PDF is also a great, safe choice for job applications because the formatting never breaks. I would avoid Google Docs—if a recruiter clicks your link and has to request permission to view it, they will usually just move on to the next candidate.

As for red flags in your research samples, here are the big ones to avoid:

    • Hiding your main point: Put your final conclusion at the very top of the page. Busy founders will not read to the end to find it.

    • Just showing charts: Do not just paste data. You need to explain why the data matters and what is actually happening in the market.

    • Only being positive: Always include a "Risks" section in your research. If you only say good things, people will think you are just trying to hype up a project rather than doing objective research.

Curious to hear from others—what mistakes do you see in portfolios? And everyone, drop your poll votes below!

I will go for Notion too. tbh PDF is fine, but it’s a massive pain to update when you want to add new pieces or when narratives shift. +1 to @ShubhadaJP on avoiding GDocs—the access request wall is an instant reject for busy founders.

To add to the red flags: the biggest mistake I see (and used to make myself) is just summarizing protocol docs. Anyone can copy-paste what a project does. Founders want your actual take - why a narrative is mispriced, or what the market is missing.

For my own structure, I keep it stupidly simple: a 3-bullet TLDR at the very top, the core thesis, the data backing it up, and then the bear case. If it takes more than 2 minutes to skim, it's too long.

Drop a link in the group once you have it set up, would love to read your stuff!
