  • 4 YoE exp as fullstack , looking to switch to web3 ever since I went to TOKEN2049

    I am having a 4 YoE in Fullstack development, have been working in react , typescript, node , AWS , Docker , kubernetes, testing , python . Have little knowledge on Dex Indexers , Solidity, consensus , hyper ledger etc . I went to TOKEN2049 Dubai along with my friend, since then looking to switch to web3 and I am desperately need of a remote job.

    I am looking forward to someone who made similar switch, and can help me in the same (ready for paid 1:1 sessions if required)

    What I would like to suggest is Start with frontend DeFi applications using your existing React skills. Build a simple token dashboard or portfolio tracker. Connect to APIs like CoinGecko or Uniswap. This shows you understand web3 user experiences without needing deep Solidity knowledge initially.

    Your AWS and containerization experience is valuable. Blockchain infrastructure roles are in high demand. Many companies struggle to find developers who can handle both web3 concepts and production deployments.

    Remote opportunities are definitely available. The blockchain space has been remote-first since the beginning. Companies like Chainlink, Aave, and various L2 protocols regularly post remote positions.

    Focus on building 2-3 solid projects over 8-10 weeks. One DeFi frontend application. One smart contract interaction tool. One project that demonstrates your backend skills with blockchain data. Keep them simple but polished.

    Skip paid courses initially. Use free resources like Cyfrin Updraft or Patrick Collins' content. Your time is better spent building actual projects.

    Your 3-6 month timeline is realistic. Most successful transitions I see happen within 10-14 weeks of consistent building and applying.

    The key is demonstrating you understand both the technical implementation and the product implications. Blockchain companies need people who can think beyond just writing code.

    Build in public. Share your progress on Twitter and LinkedIn. The web3 community is great at supporting people making the transition.

    Your fullstack background gives you a huge advantage. Most developers coming into web3 only know one side. You can contribute from day one.
