Senior Site Reliability Engineer — SRE / DevOps

Kraken operates a global crypto platform delivering trading, institutional, and infrastructure services, with Payward Services supporting B2B and institutional clients under SLA-driven environments. This role focuses on maintaining and improving distributed infrastructure across remote teams in the United States, working with hybrid-cloud systems, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.

 As part of SRE/DevOps, you will manage reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems, ensuring uptime and operational efficiency. The position directly contributes to blockchain infrastructure roles, supporting mission-critical services used by institutional partners and external integrations across global markets.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Manage and support infrastructure including Nomad, Kubernetes, databases, and third-party integrations
• Provide operational support across teams, debugging issues in staging and production environments
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews to improve system resilience
• Advise teams on performance, monitoring, and alerting aligned with SLA commitments
• Build automation, tooling, and dashboards to improve observability
• Maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for reliable build and deployment cycles
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to streamline release processes
• Support distributed teams operating across multiple time zones

🔹 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
• Experience with hybrid-cloud infrastructure environments
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD configuration
• Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana preferred)
• Ability to debug distributed systems, networks, and Linux environments
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad)
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go
• Ability to work independently in remote, fast-paced environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with distributed technologies (Kafka, gRPC, Redis)
• Experience managing systems with external SLAs or in B2B environments
• Performance tuning and system benchmarking experience
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases in production
• Interest in low-level programming (e.g., Rust)
• Experience integrating APIs (GitLab, Jira, Slack)

• Base salary: $110.4K – $220.8K USD
