Role Summary
As a Senior Compliance Officer on a specialized compliance team in Zurich, you will drive second-line compliance oversight across onboarding, transaction monitoring, and regulatory implementations. You will serve as a subject matter expert on Swiss AML regulations and digital asset compliance, collaborating closely with legal and operational teams to maintain robust controls across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Due Diligence: Perform complex client file reviews, KYC assessments, and onboarding verifications under Swiss AML framework guidelines.
Transaction Monitoring & Forensics: Oversee advanced transaction monitoring using blockchain forensics tools and manage sanctions screening alerts.
Regulatory Implementation: Interpret evolving Swiss and European regulatory requirements (FINMA, CDB, MiCAR) and integrate them into internal policies, controls, and workflows.
SARs & Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with regulatory authorities when necessary.
Controls & Audit: Execute second-line compliance controls, support internal/external audits, and conduct ongoing compliance training for internal teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Swiss AML regulations, CDB framework, KYC obligations, and sanctions regimes.
Financial Services Experience: Proven track record in compliance within the Swiss financial services or fintech industry.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken).
Digital Asset Interest: Deep interest in DLT, crypto assets, and institutional digital asset infrastructure.
Work Authorization: Must possess valid work authorization/eligibility for Switzerland (Swiss/EU/EFTA citizen or valid work permit).
Nice-to-Haves
University degree in Law, Finance, or related field; additional qualifications such as Swiss CPA or compliance certifications.
Familiarity with broader EU financial market regulations (e.g., MiCAR).
Residence in or willingness to commute to the Greater Zurich area.
