Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)

Role Summary
As the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), you will own and oversee end-to-end AML/CTF compliance across Nuvei Liquidity. You will act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, manage transaction monitoring frameworks for virtual assets, lead suspicious activity investigations, and ensure full compliance across digital asset operations.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Frameworks: Develop, maintain, and execute AML/CTF and international sanctions policies tailored to virtual asset and digital money activities.
Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial intelligence units (FIU), local regulatory authorities, and regulatory audits.
Transaction & Risk Monitoring: Oversee virtual asset transaction monitoring, detect suspicious patterns, and manage Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) escalation processes.
Investigations & Reporting: Conduct detailed investigations into suspicious activities, maintain comprehensive records, and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Governance & Training: Conduct risk assessments, report directly to the Management Board, and deliver internal compliance training for operational teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
Regulatory Expertise: Strong background in global AML/CTF regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements specifically surrounding virtual assets/crypto.
Analytical Capability: Proven experience tracking complex transaction flows, recognizing risk patterns, and managing EDD procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills (English working language) with a track record of liaising with regulators and executive board members.
Autonomy: Ability to manage tight regulatory deadlines and navigate shifting compliance mandates independently.
Nice-to-Haves
Professional compliance certifications such as CAMS or CFE.
Direct operational experience working with MiCA guidelines, CASP licensing, or electronic money institutions (EMTs).
