Job description

LatamCent connects top global tech talent and builds secure, scalable cross-border fintech and Web3 settlement solutions. Combining cutting-edge cloud infrastructure with blockchain-based settlement rails, the company powers international payments, payroll, and digital asset transactions across the Americas.

Role Summary

LatamCent is hiring a hands-on Lead Security and Infrastructure Engineer to work directly with the CTO as the founding security and infrastructure hire. In this role, you will own the end-to-end security, infrastructure operations, and reliability across cloud, application, and on-chain EVM environments—hardening existing systems, building CI/CD & DR capabilities, and setting the technical roadmap as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Engineering: Own security posture across cloud, application, and blockchain systems. Establish secure defaults for IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, audit logging, and least-privilege access governance.

  • Incident Response & Defense: Lead threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response (detection, containment, forensics, and blameless post-mortems). Build automated alerting for anomalous traffic and edge abuse via Cloudflare and GCP.

  • Infrastructure & CI/CD Operations: Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and reliable CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments on Google Cloud Run. Harden Cloud Run, BigQuery, MySQL, and Cloudflare configurations.

  • Web3 & On-Chain Security: Architect and secure key management, wallet operations, transaction signing pipelines, and smart contract interaction boundaries.

  • Reliability & Disaster Recovery: Establish RTO/RPO targets, database backup strategies, point-in-time recovery, and run regular recovery drills / game days.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Experience: 8+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, SRE, or closely related engineering fields with deep hands-on security engineering ownership.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience setting security and infrastructure direction at a senior or lead level.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure Stack: Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Cloud Run, MySQL, Cloudflare (WAF, DNS, rate limiting, edge security), and IaC / CI/CD pipelines.

  • Web3 & EVM Fundamentals: Production experience with Ethereum/EVM-based systems, including wallets, transaction signing, key management, and contract integrations.

  • App Environment: Solid experience with Node.js and TypeScript application stacks.

  • Location / Authorization: Must be currently based in the United States and authorized to work in the US.
