Internship

This open application internship is offered by Nethermind for individuals interested in contributing to blockchain, Ethereum infrastructure, Web3 technologies, cryptography, research, and related fields. Applicants may come from various technical or analytical backgrounds and will have the opportunity to collaborate with distributed teams on research, engineering, infrastructure, or product-focused work.

The internship allows candidates to position themselves for potential involvement in protocol development, AI–crypto intersections, decentralized systems, and open-source collaboration. Candidates who are strongly aligned with decentralized technology principles and who can work proactively in a remote-first environment are encouraged to express their interest and describe how they may contribute to Nethermind’s ongoing initiatives.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Collaborate with distributed teams on technical, research, or product initiatives in Web3 and related ecosystems
• Contribute to infrastructure, research, or engineering work depending on background and expertise
• Engage with open-source efforts and participate in knowledge-sharing within the organization
• Work independently with ownership over tasks while adapting to evolving priorities

🔹 Requirements

• Background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, cryptography, finance, AI/ML, or similar technical fields
• Practical experience with Web3, DeFi, or Layer 1/L2 technologies
• Exposure to protocol design, ZK systems, cryptography, MEV, DeFi, or governance research
• Strong communication skills and ability to work asynchronously in a global team
• Self-driven mindset and ability to work effectively with minimal oversight
• Genuine interest in Ethereum, decentralization, and open-source development

🔹 Bonus (Preferred but not required)

• Contributions to open-source projects, particularly related to Ethereum
• Familiarity with Ethereum protocol internals, smart contract security, rollups, or tokenomics
• Experience with decentralized governance or on-chain data analysis
• Exposure to systems design or technical project management
• AI/ML expertise applied in crypto or decentralized infrastructure
• Participation in hackathons, research initiatives, or technical competitions
