Developer Experience Engineer (FHE/Blockchain)

Zama, an open-source cryptography company advancing Fully Homomorphic Encryption solutions for blockchain, is hiring a Developer Experience Engineer to support the adoption of its main product, fhevm. This role focuses on designing and maintaining developer-facing tools that help blockchain engineers integrate Zama’s encryption-based functionality into applications using tools like Solidity libraries, Hardhat, and Foundry.

The position involves building SDKs, IDE plugins, mocks, and CLI utilities while collaborating with internal product and support groups and engaging with the external developer community. The role supports both engineering and documentation responsibilities to ensure accessible and reliable developer workflows for FHE-powered blockchain features.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain developer tools including SDKs, IDE plugins, mocks, and CLI utilities.
• Improve developer workflows through automation and integration with widely used frameworks and environments.
• Collaborate with product, documentation, and support stakeholders to align developer tools with actual user needs.
• Produce accurate technical documentation, examples, and best-practice references.
• Gather feedback from developers and incorporate improvements into future tool releases.
• Stay updated with JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems, blockchain tooling, and developer-experience trends.

🔹 Requirements

• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with experience building SDKs, libraries, or developer-oriented tools.
• Familiarity with blockchain frameworks such as Hardhat or Foundry is beneficial.
• Experience developing IDE extensions or plugins (e.g., VS Code, JetBrains) is advantageous.
• Demonstrated empathy for developer usability and workflow optimization.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, support, and documentation teams.
