Don’t think of blockchain, AI, or game development as separate boxes right now. In your first year, the smartest thing you can do is focus on strong fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving. Those skills make it easier to move between blockchain careers, Web3 jobs, AI projects, or GameFi later.

    From what I’ve seen:

    • Blockchain development is opening doors beyond crypto — in DeFi, supply chain, and digital identity — but it changes quickly, so adaptability matters.

    • AI and machine learning have huge potential, but breaking in can be slow without advanced math or access to strong research labs.

    • Game development is creative, but salaries can be lower since so many people want to enter the industry.

The best approach is to experiment. Try a small blockchain project, a mini-game, or an AI model. See which one makes you curious enough to keep going even when it gets tough. That curiosity is usually the clearest career signal.

Your question made me nostalgic. I’m in my second year and went through the same confusion. I started with AI because it looked futuristic, but the math-heavy side slowed me down. Then I tried a small blockchain internship project, where I built a basic smart contract, and it just felt practical. Later I explored GameFi and realized it connects blockchain development with game design that overlap really clicked for me.

So my suggestion: try small experiments in each area. You don’t need to commit yet. When I stopped worrying about “the best industry” and just followed what kept me motivated, things started making sense.
