    Axiom

    FULL_TIMENA

    Job description

This role focuses on implementing and optimizing cryptographic systems related to zero-knowledge proof generation. Axiom develops verifiable and privacy-preserving software components, including the OpenVM zkVM framework, which supports flexible verification of program execution. The ZK Proof Engineer will contribute to building and refining ZK-enable infrastructure, integrating low-level computing, compiler frameworks, and proof systems.

The work requires both engineering capability and an understanding of security principles, with responsibilities spanning circuit construction, prover optimization, and interaction with back-end data systems. Candidates should be comfortable making technical design decisions that support scalable and secure system development within a compact engineering team.

    🔹 Responsibilities

    • Implement and optimize zero-knowledge proof generation systems
    • Build infrastructure that links low-level computing (e.g., RISC-V), compiler tooling, and database backends with ZK systems
    • Develop new ZK circuits and improve existing provers
    • Make engineering design decisions to accelerate development of secure and efficient systems
    • Collaborate across the stack with attention to precision and performance

    🔹 Requirements

    • Strong mathematical or cryptographic background, or demonstrated problem-solving ability in ZK-related domains
    • Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, or equivalent performance-oriented languages
    • High attention to detail and security-focused mindset
    • Experience with complex software projects and performance-conscious engineering
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills
    • Action-oriented approach and strong work ethic

    🔹 Bonus / Nice-to-have

    • Experience with LLVM, MLIR, or compiler tooling
    • Exposure to RISC-V, FPGAs, or related hardware systems
    • Knowledge of database backends or query systems
    • Research background in math, TCS, or theoretical physics
    • Familiarity with Ethereum internals
    • Relevant experience from areas such as HFT, hardware engineering, or academic research

    🔹 Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary range: $125K – $250K
    • Equity offered
    • Opportunity to influence early-stage technical decisions
    • Work with a strong engineering and research-focused team
