    Job description

    Clearmatics builds decentralized financial market infrastructure designed to enable open, efficient, and interoperable markets. The company focuses on systems that allow peer-to-peer trading, settlement, and the creation of markets around real-world risk factors not well represented in traditional finance.

    As a Smart Contract Engineer, you will develop and maintain Solidity-based contracts on Autonity—an EVM network for decentralized derivatives clearing. The role involves working with researchers and protocol engineers to convert research models into production-ready contracts and support L1 protocol enhancements. You will work across domains such as derivatives, synthetic assets, algorithmic stabilization, trading protocols, and oracle integrations.

    🔹 Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain decentralized financial smart contracts on Autonity to support risk-market creation.
    • Work on diverse areas including derivatives, DEX settlement, algorithmic stabilization, data oracles, and liquid staking.
    • Translate research prototypes into production-grade Solidity implementations.
    • Collaborate with Autonity core developers on L1 protocol contract improvements and Go client integrations.

    🔹 Requirements

    • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
    • 2+ years of Solidity smart contract development.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
    • Strong understanding of Eth1 protocols and proof-of-stake consensus.
    • Knowledge of the DeFi landscape and major DeFi primitives.
    • Proficiency in Python and web3.py.
    • Experience working with data oracles and P2P data storage such as IPFS.
    • Experience collaborating with external smart contract auditors.
    • Prior open-source contributions in the Web3 ecosystem.

    🔹 Bonus Points

    • Experience designing or researching Web3 protocols.
    • Familiarity with Python scientific tools like NumPy, Pandas, or Jupyter.
