Alchemy builds developer infrastructure and tooling that supports onchain applications and distributed protocols. This role focuses on designing and maintaining smart contract–based protocols that extend Alchemy’s developer platform. As a Smart Contract Engineer, you will architect distributed protocols with a focus on security, scalability, and performance, and maintain them in production environments.

The position involves writing, testing, deploying, and upgrading smart contracts that may be used by a large number of teams and end users. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams on applications built around these protocols and help establish best practices for secure, maintainable contract development.

🔹 Responsibilities

Design and architect distributed protocols with attention to security, scalability, and performance
Write, deploy, test, and maintain smart contracts in production environments
Establish and maintain best practices for protocol upgrades and versioning across networks
Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams on user-facing applications built on smart contract protocols
Mentor engineers on Solidity, EVM concepts, and smart contract best practices
Track updates to Solidity, developer tooling, and known vulnerabilities or exploits

🔹 Requirements

6+ years of relevant industry experience
2+ years of smart contract development experience, including production deployments of original, non-trivial protocols and related security audits
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Advanced proficiency with Solidity and the EVM
Experience designing distributed protocols
Experience building, testing, deploying, and maintaining high-traffic smart contracts
Ability to balance rapid delivery with long-term system stability
Experience working in startup environments
Interest in blockchain technology and Web3
Experience managing protocols with significant TVL is a plus
Experience founding companies or building side projects is a plus

🔹 Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: USD 135,000 – 350,000 annually (base salary only)
