Senior Back-End Engineer, Trading Platform

Blockchain.com is hiring a Senior Back-End Engineer for its Institutional team in Paris. The role focuses on building and maintaining low-latency trading services used across the company’s institutional products. This team works on systems such as order management, exchange connectivity, and risk components that support high-frequency trading environments.

The position requires developing high-performance services in Rust, improving existing OMS modules, and contributing to new financial infrastructure initiatives. You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams, work with large-scale distributed systems, and ensure security remains integral to the software lifecycle. This role is suited for engineers experienced in performance-critical architectures who want to contribute to trading platform development.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, low-latency trading services in Rust, including OMS, exchange gateways, and risk systems.
• Maintain and enhance OMS capabilities to support efficient routing, execution, and order handling.
• Contribute to ongoing iteration of high-performance trading infrastructure within a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Work on new financial systems and architectures supporting the company’s exchange ecosystem.
• Apply low-latency and high-throughput engineering techniques and algorithms.
• Implement security measures including advanced encryption to protect user and internal data.
• Coordinate with cross-functional tech teams to deliver stable, high-quality platform features.

🔹 Requirements

• Strong curiosity and interest in learning new technologies.
• Extensive experience with C++ and/or Rust.
• Familiarity with Python and SQL.
• Background in one or more: multithreading, network programming (including multicast), or performance tuning.
• Commitment to quality engineering practices, including unit, integration, performance, and recovery testing.
• Experience with trading system architecture such as OMS design, exchange connectivity, or market data processing.
• Practical approach to building clear solutions for complex problems.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, databases, and distributed systems.
