    Job description

    This role supports Consensys’s Data team, responsible for transforming raw data into reliable, analysis-ready models that power KPIs across Finance, Product, and Leadership. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will design, build, document, and maintain data models and semantic layers, while ensuring accuracy, governance, and consistency across the organization. You will work closely with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to define metrics, create dashboards, and optimize dbt workflows.

    The role involves writing efficient SQL, maintaining scalable data pipelines, improving documentation, and collaborating with data engineering teams to ensure high-quality data availability. This is a fully remote position with a US base salary range of $156,000–$187,000.

    🔹 Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain reliable data models that transform raw data into business-ready datasets.

    • Translate requirements from analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders into clear metrics, KPIs, and dashboards.

    • Maintain semantic layers, metric definitions, and data documentation for consistent usage.

    • Develop, test, and optimize dbt models for trusted, high-quality data.

    • Embed data quality, accuracy, and governance into all modeling processes.

    • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business decision-making.

    • Write efficient SQL queries and maintain performant transformations.

    • Partner with data engineers on ingestion pipelines and data availability.

    • Improve analytics workflows and processes for scalability and reliability.

    🔹 Requirements

    • 6+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer.

    • Advanced SQL skills and experience writing complex, optimized queries.

    • Hands-on experience with dbt for transformation and modeling.

    • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and semantic layers.

    • Experience defining KPIs and building metrics for business teams.

    • Familiarity with BI tools like Looker, Superset, Tableau, or Power BI.

    • Comfort with Python or another scripting language.

    • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and validation tools.

    • Understanding of cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

    • Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows for analytics.

    • Bonus: Experience supporting KPI reporting for public or pre-IPO companies.

    • Bonus: Familiarity with tools like DataHub or Great Expectations.
