Research Engineer Intern (Video/Multimodal LLM)

This internship is intended for MSc/PhD students interested in contributing to research and engineering in large-scale AI model development at Tether. The role involves participation in building and improving SOTA models in domains such as LLMs, video models, and multimodal architectures. Interns will also work on enhancing distributed training infrastructure designed for large-scale GPU environments.

The position emphasizes hands-on research collaboration, applied experimentation on real product use cases, and interaction with engineering and research teams across the organization. Applicants should have strong academic foundations in machine learning or related fields, as well as proven technical research experience aligned with LLM, computer vision, or multimodal model development.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development on SOTA LLM and/or video/multimodal models
• Apply large-scale models in real business contexts such as pretraining, fine-tuning, inference, and post-training
• Improve training frameworks to support large-model training across multi-node GPU clusters
• Collaborate with internal teams to advance open-source LLM, vision, or multimodal model development

🔹 Requirements

• MSc or PhD student in computer science or a related technical discipline
• Research background in at least one of: LLM, computer vision, or multimodality
• Proficiency with PyTorch and deep learning libraries
• Strong analytical reasoning, communication abilities, and collaborative working skills
• Publications at recognized AI conferences (e.g., ACL, NIPS/NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc.) are beneficial but not required
