Risk Labs is the core team behind the UMA and Across ecosystems, building infrastructure that enables verifiable real-world data and cross-chain interoperability for Web3. This remote web3 role combines engineering leadership with hands-on architecture and development responsibilities.

The Engineering Manager will guide a small cross-stack team while remaining deeply involved in system design, code quality, and technical direction across backend services, smart contracts, bots, and frontend components.

The role supports protocol-level engineering aligned with product roadmaps and requires strong familiarity with DeFi, interoperability patterns, and blockchain systems.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Design and refine technical specifications and architectures for complex product challenges
• Lead and mentor a team of 2–4 engineers through regular 1:1s and performance guidance
• Balance hands-on coding, code reviews, and technical direction to uphold standards in quality, performance, and security
• Plan, execute, and deliver engineering initiatives aligned with product vision and roadmap
• Work across backend systems, smart contracts, bots, and frontend components to resolve cross-functional challenges
• Remain current with developments in DeFi and interoperability ecosystems

🔹 Requirements

• 4+ years of full-time engineering experience in software or financial technology organizations
• Experience contributing to at least 3 blockchain-based projects, including leading small teams
• Strong problem-solving ability and creative thinking within technical constraints
• Demonstrated ownership of engineering projects from design through deployment
• Experience mentoring engineers and supporting career development in collaborative teams
• Comfort adapting to the evolving use of AI in modern workflows
• Proficiency with Solidity, Typescript, and GCP

🔹 Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $130,000–$200,000 USD
• Token options in $UMA and $ACX, with governance participation and potential reward growth
• Payment available in stablecoins or fiat
