OpenZeppelin is a blockchain security company focused on protecting decentralized applications and smart contracts. The team develops open-source contract libraries and provides security services that support the full lifecycle of blockchain projects.

As a Blockchain Security Researcher, you will analyze smart contracts for decentralized applications prior to launch, identify vulnerabilities, and communicate findings to clients.

The role involves close collaboration with other auditors to review code in detail and test it for potential exploits. You will also conduct independent research on emerging blockchain technologies and contribute to internal knowledge, tooling, and open-source initiatives while working within a fully distributed team.

🔹 Responsibilities

Review smart contracts for decentralized applications before deployment
Identify, document, and communicate security vulnerabilities to clients
Collaborate with one or two auditors to perform line-by-line code reviews
Test smart contracts by attempting to exploit potential weaknesses
Propose improvements and best practices to enhance code clarity and usability
Conduct open-ended research on emerging blockchain technologies
Contribute research output and knowledge to OpenZeppelin’s internal and open-source projects

🔹 Requirements

Practical experience in at least one of the following areas: software development, cybersecurity, or mathematics
Experience working with public Ethereum or other EVM-based blockchains
Knowledge of the Solidity programming language
Strong ability to learn complex technical concepts independently
High attention to detail
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Advanced English proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in blockchain technology and decentralization
Ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team
