Uniswap Labs is hiring an Engineering Manager for its Protocol team, responsible for leading engineers who design and maintain the smart contract systems behind Uniswap V4, UniswapX, and future protocol iterations. The role involves owning architectural direction, managing engineering execution, and ensuring rigorous security practices across Solidity-based development.
You will guide a high-performing team through audits, threat modeling, cross-chain deployments, and protocol upgrades while collaborating with product, legal, design, and security teams. This position is suited for leaders with deep EVM expertise, hands-on experience securing high-value DeFi contracts, and a track record of shipping production smart contract systems at scale.
🔹 Responsibilities
• Hire, mentor, and develop a team of smart contract engineers while promoting a secure and inclusive engineering culture.
• Define architectural direction and roadmap for Uniswap’s Solidity-based protocol, including hooks, governance upgrades, and multi-chain deployments.
• Oversee security processes such as threat modeling, formal verification, fuzzing, and external audit cycles.
• Convert research and product objectives into clear engineering plans and track progress across multiple networks.
• Work closely with Product, Legal, Security, Design, and Community teams to deliver secure and user-focused protocol features.
🔹 Requirements
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building production EVM smart contracts and 2+ years managing engineers.
• Proven history of deploying contracts with significant TVL and no critical security incidents.
• Strong understanding of the EVM, AMMs, oracles, bridges, and broader DeFi mechanics.
• Experience leading smart contract security efforts, including external audits and formal verification.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain protocol decisions to both technical and non-technical groups.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
🔹 Preferred Qualifications
• Contributions to open-source DeFi projects or Ethereum-related proposals.
• Familiarity with L2 ecosystems, cross-chain messaging, account abstraction, or zero-knowledge technologies.
• Experience with tooling such as Foundry, Hardhat, Slither, Echidna, Certora, MythX, or similar.
🔹 Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $360,000–$390,000 (NYC Pay Transparency).
• Additional compensation may include equity, tokens, and role-dependent benefits.
• Benefits include employer-paid medical/dental/vision coverage, gym subsidy, 401(k) with 4% match, education stipend, unlimited time off, parental leave, home office stipend, and daily lunches at the NY office.
