Protofire is hiring a Blockchain Architect to support the design and delivery of Web3 solutions for clients and community projects. The role involves leading early-stage discovery, defining technical requirements, and shaping high-level architecture that aligns with customer goals.

You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to evaluate trade-offs, validate assumptions, and ensure delivery risks are identified early. The position includes producing proposals, supporting negotiations, and conducting technical due diligence throughout the sales process.

This role is suited for someone with strong knowledge of L1/L2 ecosystems, hands-on familiarity with blockchain tools, and experience contributing to Web3 infrastructure or open-source projects.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery sessions to understand goals, constraints, and existing systems.
• Convert pain points into clear requirements and measurable success criteria.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify customer priorities and maintain alignment across teams.
• Lead solution design, estimations, and architectural decisions with documented trade-offs.
• Review estimates with engineering and flag potential delivery risks early.
• Explain technical decisions in terms of timelines, cost, security, and roadmap impact.
• Prepare proposals covering scope, milestones, pricing, and acceptance criteria.
• Communicate business value along with the technical recommendations.
• Support technical portions of negotiations and assist in closing deals.
• Provide technical responses, demos, and clarifications during due diligence.
• Ensure shared written understanding of scope, interfaces, and requirements.
• Track protocols, tooling, and competitive landscape to provide market insight.
• Research risks and opportunities for complex requests and supply recommendations.
• Create clean handover documentation including architecture, APIs, and non-functional requirements.

🔹 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a comparable role.
• Daily user of on-chain tools with practical exposure to wallets, DeFi, and governance.
• Involvement in OSS infrastructure with comfort working publicly and engaging community feedback.
• Strong understanding of L1/L2 ecosystems (e.g., Ethereum, Polkadot, Cardano), RPC/node infra, indexing, authentication, and standards.
• Experience designing, reviewing, and deploying smart contracts with knowledge of dApp architectures and Web3 CI/CD.
• Familiarity with crypto primitives, secure coding, key management, and wallet models (custodial/non-custodial, multisig).
• Full-stack familiarity, able to read code and discuss backend/frontend trade-offs.
• Hands-on background with SCRUM/Agile, transforming requirements into stories, backlog, and milestones.
• Ability to explain complex Web3 concepts clearly and produce structured specifications, proposals, and risk notes.
