    Job description

This role leads the Quality Engineering function for Trust Wallet’s ecosystem of applications across Android, iOS, browser extension, and web. The position is responsible for defining the automation roadmap, modernizing the existing test infrastructure, and guiding the technical evolution of the testing framework from Appium + Java toward a unified architecture integrated with GitHub Actions and Argo Workflows.

The role combines strategic test direction, deep technical engagement, and mentorship of QE/SDET contributors. You will shape core testing methodologies, guide engineering teams toward stronger automation discipline, and help establish consistent quality practices throughout the development lifecycle. This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates globally.

    🔹 Responsibilities

    • Establish and maintain the end-to-end automation strategy across web, mobile, and extension platforms.
    • Lead and support QE/SDET team members through technical guidance, prioritization, code review, and direction-setting.
    • Redesign the existing automation framework into a scalable, modular approach with unified reporting and parallel execution.
    • Integrate automation runs into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo Workflows with enforceable quality gates.
    • Define quality engineering best practices around stability, reporting, test data management, and failure detection.
    • Implement analytical visibility of automation health including dashboards, metrics, and coverage visualizations.
    • Collaborate with engineering stakeholders throughout the SDLC to ensure earlier defect detection and validation.
    • Standardize test development conventions including governance, project structure, and contribution guidelines.
    • Drive incremental improvements in test performance, reliability, and developer experience.
    • Represent the QE function in release readiness checks, engineering reviews, and planning discussions.

    🔹 Requirements

    • 7+ years of QA automation/SDET experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or architect role.
    • Experience developing automation frameworks across multiple platforms including mobile and web.
    • Strong proficiency with Appium and Java/Kotlin, as well as experience with hosted device testing platforms.
    • Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress for web and extension automation.
    • Practical experience integrating automation with GitHub Actions or Argo Workflows.
    • Proven competency in mentoring engineers and improving quality standards across teams.
    • Deep understanding of flakiness reduction, retry strategies, test stability, and pipeline optimization.
    • Experience building dashboards and KPIs for monitoring automation health and readiness metrics.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills in remote global work environments.
    • Nice to have: experience developing automation frameworks as internal products, exposure to visual/performance/accessibility testing, test execution using Docker/Kubernetes, AWS experience, or QE team-building background.

    🔹 Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive salary and company-stated benefits.
    • Fully remote structure with flexible working hours.
    • Learning and career growth opportunities through complex engineering challenges.
    • Collaboration with distributed teams across a global organization.
